Fix de 1 Decembrie, prietenii de la Radio România Cultural au difuzat înregistrarea discuției pe care am avut-o cu Daria Ghiu, în cadrul emisiunii „Orașul Vorbește”, pe care postul național o transmite. Am vorbit despre relația mea cu Bucureștiul, despre fotografia de stradă, despre autenticitatea prin fotografie, dar și despre viață în general. Prietenii de la Eshte au lansat un nou podcast numit, firesc, FirEshte. M-am numărat printre primii invitați ai seriei, iar cu această ocazie am avut o discuție foarte frumoasă cu Ioana Voloacă. Am vorbit, așa cum era de așteptat, despre patrimoniul în imagini, dar conversația este mult mai amplă și pe alocuri chiar filozofică, atât cât ne permit competențele. Another October means another meeting with Anastasia in my studio for her annual portrait. It’s been 22 years since we started this project, and after this very long run, we’ve completed the 23rd image.
Everything began in October 2003, when a very young Anastasia entered my studio for the first time. On that occasion, I took her portrait without having a project in mind. Coincidentally, Anastasia returned to my studio the following October, in 2004, and I made a second portrait similar to the first one. From that moment on, it became clear that this could become a long-term project, so we decided to meet every October for as long as possible, each year repeating the portrait and adding new images to the series.
Săptămânile trecute am avut ocazia să îi reîntâlnesc pe Smiley, Alex Velea și Connect-R, pentru a ilustra un interviu pe care ei l-au acordat revistei A List. După cum se vede în imagini, a fost o experiență amuzantă și colorată.

Nicușor Dan, noul președinte al României, pe lângă performanța electorală fabuloasă pe care a înregistrat-o, a realizat, indirect, și o performanță fotografică demnă de a fi considerată, să zicem, reper într-o eventuală “istorie” a fotografiei (electorale) românești. Cu un singur set de imagini, realizat de subsemnatul, Nicușor Dan a câștigat atât Primăria Bucureștiului, cât și un referendum, apoi a intrat în turul doi al alegerilor prezidențiale și, într-un final, a câștigat poziția de Președinte al României.

Hello, with a new project! Here’s a series I enjoyed photographing, picturing some of the “Young Gentlemen” from Romania, selected by A List Magazine (@alistmagazine). All of them are great performers in their fields—even though they are very young, all of them are under 30. Actually, this is the topic of the magazine article and project: celebrating young performers.
In this context, I photographed the TV host Aris Eram (@arismelkior), the artist Antoniu Tămaș (@tamasantoniu), the actor Vlad Ionuț Popescu (@vladionut.popescu), the chef Szilárd Lőrincz (@szililorincz), the pilot Robert Oană (@10robert24), and the composer and conductor Eduard Dabrowski (@eduard.dabrowski).

Hello, cu un nou proiect din categoria celor faine.
Undeva prin toamnă, am lucrat pentru Mercedes-Benz Romania si Mercedes-Benz Bucharest Fashion Week (MBBFW). În acest context, am realizat o parte dintre materialele de promovare, în mod special cele legate de unii dintre designerii români invitați la eveniment. Au fost două zile cu multe fotografii, ilustrații și interviuri video, toate pe teme legate de industria de modă de la noi din țară, cu provocările și oportunitățile ei.

It’s October again, and, as usual, Anastasia came to my studio for her annual portrait. It’s been 21 years since we started this project, and after this long run, we’ve completed the 22nd image.
Everything began in October 2003, when a very young Anastasia entered my studio for the first time. On that occasion, I made her a portrait without having a project in mind. Coincidentally, Anastasia returned to my studio the following October, in 2004, and I took a second portrait similar to the first one. From that moment, it became clear that this could be a long-term project, so we decided to meet every October for as long as possible, annually repeating our portrait and adding new images to the set.
Interestingly, over all these years, I’ve changed my studio three times, camera and lighting equipment countless times, but I never changed the chair Anastasia sits on. Amusingly, the chair isn’t visible in the pictures, but we (Anastasia and I) know it’s there.

With the Paris 2024 Olympic Games literally around the corner, I have some nice news to share. I recently had the honor of being invited by the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee to photograph some of the members of the Romanian Olympic Team wearing the official parade uniforms for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
