My picture in the Accidentally Wes Anderson exhibition at The Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History (MAH)

Hello, with some good news: one of my pictures is part of an Accidentally Wes Anderson’s group exhibition organized by The Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History (MAH) in Santa Cruz, California. The show is called “Accidentally Wes Anderson: Adventures in Santa Cruz” and “pays tribute to the world of travel photography, community, and adventure, where architecture, design, and aesthetics converge in stunning symmetry reminiscent of the iconic filmmaker’s visual style.” (MAH website)

Photo shooting for A List Magazine

Hello, with a new project! Here’s a series I enjoyed photographing, picturing some of the “Young Gentlemen” from Romania, selected by A List Magazine (@alistmagazine). All of them are great performers in their fields—even though they are very young, all of them are under 30. Actually, this is the topic of the magazine article and project: celebrating young performers.

In this context, I photographed the TV host Aris Eram (@arismelkior), the artist Antoniu Tămaș (@tamasantoniu), the actor Vlad Ionuț Popescu (@vladionut.popescu), the chef Szilárd Lőrincz (@szililorincz), the pilot Robert Oană (@10robert24), and the composer and conductor Eduard Dabrowski (@eduard.dabrowski).

My pictures in the “Accidentally Wes Anderson – Adventures” book

Am ceva dragut de împărtășit cu voi. Una dintre fotografiile mele , cea de mai sus, a fost publicată de Accidentally Wes Anderson în cea mai nouă carte a lor, “Accidentally Wes Anderson, Adventures.”

Este a doua oară când fotografiile mele sunt publicate în acest context. Prima dată s-a întâmplat în 2020, când alte două imagini au fost incluse în prima carte lansată de AWA.

Fotografia de mai sus am realizat-o în Phuket, Thailanda, în ziua de Crăciun a anului 2019 și surprinde acoperișul unui restaurant de pe plajă, format din sute de umbrele colorate.

Cartea “Accidentally Wes Anderson, Adventures” este disponibilă acum. O puteți comanda pe Amazon, de exemplu, dar și din multe alte locuri. Sunt sigur că o veți aprecia!

Project for Mercedes-Benz Bucharest Fashion Week

Hello, cu un nou proiect din categoria celor faine.

Undeva prin toamnă, am lucrat pentru Mercedes-Benz Romania si Mercedes-Benz Bucharest Fashion Week (MBBFW). În acest context, am realizat o parte dintre materialele de promovare, în mod special cele legate de unii dintre designerii români invitați la eveniment. Au fost două zile cu multe fotografii, ilustrații și interviuri video, toate pe teme legate de industria de modă de la noi din țară, cu provocările și oportunitățile ei.

Marie Claire Maison Korea magazine published the “As I Found It” series.

Se pare că am început anul destul de bine, cu o publicare în ediția coreeană a Marie Claire Maison, publicație înrudită cu cunoscuta revistă de modă Marie Claire, dar axată pe interior design, home deco și lifestyle. Totul a început cu o cerere venită la început de decembrie, când, via email, unul dintre redactorii revistei m-a contactat pentru a-mi propune participarea la un material editorial, cu câteva imagini de călătorie din seria mea “As I Found It”, însoțite de răspunsuri la câteva întrebări. Totul s-a concretizat într-un articol de șase pagini, intitulat “The Art of Loving in a Metropolis”, în care fotografiile mele au apărut alături de imaginile altor patru fotografi din diferite părți ale lumii.

Anastasia – year 21

It’s October again, and, as usual, Anastasia came to my studio for her annual portrait. It’s been 21 years since we started this project, and after this long run, we’ve completed the 22nd image.

Everything began in October 2003, when a very young Anastasia entered my studio for the first time. On that occasion, I made her a portrait without having a project in mind. Coincidentally, Anastasia returned to my studio the following October, in 2004, and I took a second portrait similar to the first one. From that moment, it became clear that this could be a long-term project, so we decided to meet every October for as long as possible, annually repeating our portrait and adding new images to the set.

Interestingly, over all these years, I’ve changed my studio three times, camera and lighting equipment countless times, but I never changed the chair Anastasia sits on. Amusingly, the chair isn’t visible in the pictures, but we (Anastasia and I) know it’s there.

With the Paris 2024 Olympic Games literally around the corner, I have some nice news to share. I recently had the honor of being invited by the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee to photograph some of the members of the Romanian Olympic Team wearing the official parade uniforms for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Brand Employment Campaign for Kaufland

Kaufland sărbătorește 5 ani de program A.C.C.E.S. (Angajare de Candidați cu Cerințe și Evoluții Speciale), un program de angajare și integrare în echipa Kaufland, dedicat persoanelor cu dizabilități. În acest context, am realizat portrete ale unui număr de 14 angajați Kaufland, fotografii care s-au materializat într-o expoziție intitulată “ALT Portraits / Portrete Alternative”, care, după cum numele descrie foarte bine, e o intenție de a schimba perspectiva asupra diversității și incluziunii, prin fotografie. Expoziția circulă în momentul acesta prin țară, în cadrul evenimentelor A.C.C.E.S. derulate de companie.

Firesc că m-am bucurat să fac parte din proiect, invitația m-a onorat cu siguranță, dar, poate mai important de atât, a creat contextul în care am cunoscut oameni minunați și deosebit de inimoși. Mulțumesc.

A nice project for Regina Maria

Mi-am făcut o obișnuință din a scrie câteva cuvinte despre unele dintre proiectele fotografice un pic mai speciale la care particip. Special a fost și proiectul celor de la Regina Maria, care au decis să promoveze componenta de maternitate pe care o asigură în spitalele lor pentru viitoarele mame. În acest context, am realizat materialele foto și video necesare pentru această campanie.

Partea interesantă a proiectului este o anumită componentă de autenticitate. Persoanele fotografiate sunt clienți adevărați ai Regina Maria, care au venit cu poveștile lor de viață autentice, lucru care pe mine, ca fotograf, m-a atras foarte mult.

Our first SecretNipple party – images from the event

Here are some fresh pictures from our first SecretNipple party. It was a great one, not because of us, but because so many friends decided to visit us and spend some time together. I’m also glad to see SecretNipple growing, becoming a reason for wonderful people to get together and have a good time.

SecretNipple is a unique project I’m involved in, for which I’ve already produced many portraits of interesting people. The project started with a bit of nostalgia when a group of creators (Iulia Sas, Mara Coman, Irina Hartia, Alexandra Craescu, Adonis Enache, Adrian Mihaiu, Liviu Badilita & me), some of them with extensive experience in glamour and editorial journalism, decided to compensate for the disappearance of the glossy magazines market with a project that keeps alive the same creative energy and spirit. In other words, SecretNipple is about that intimate feeling one wants to hide but can’t; it is a story about intimacy, not necessarily physical, but especially emotional, delivered through portrait photography.

Although the project is just two years old, it has become visible enough in the market to grab the attention of relevant people and institutions. In this direction, Conceptual Lab and Theo Nissim offer the SecretNipple project to become better known and better understood by you, by organising a party. Of course, the event included a photographic exhibition with the pictures produced for the project, screened in an installation made of 18 displays.
