With the Paris 2024 Olympic Games literally around the corner, I have some nice news to share. I recently had the honor of being invited by the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee to photograph some of the members of the Romanian Olympic Team wearing the official parade uniforms for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. (more images below)

The idea behind the photoshoot was to combine a “studio” session with the places where the athletes usually train. We chose to bring a photo studio background and install it in one of the gyms at the Izvorani Olympic Complex, framing the pictures to show both worlds: a sports facility and a photo studio environment. It reflects the reality of what happened that day; we entered with a “photo studio” into the lives of these fantastic sports performers.

If you need more context, you might want to know that Romanian athletes will parade at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games opening ceremony under the new “Team Romania” emblem approved by the International Olympic Committee, wearing the pictured uniforms created by Romanian designer Gyarfas Olah and manufactured in Romania.

Also, to better understand Gyarfas Olah’s vision about the outfits he designed, you have to know that for the first time in Olympic history, the Paris 2024 opening ceremony will take place outside the stadium, on the Seine River, where barges will carry the athletes over the 6 km stage of the opening show.

Of course, you can imagine that this photo session was a wonderful experience. It was a great honor for me to be involved in such a project. I wish Team Romania all the best, good luck, and a fantastic performance. Thank you to the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee, Brandient, Mihai Covaliu, Ana Maria Branza, Aneta Bogdan, Mihaela Radulescu, Diana Benea, Oana Enache, Gyarfas Olah, and all the athletes, collaborators, and friends involved.
