Bucharest under heavy bombing – part two

preview3.jpg

These images are relatively new on the Internet. It was a little bit shocking for me to see them. I just heard some stories from my grandfather and from some books that the Bucharest was hit in 4th and 15th of April 1944 by American and Britannic planes but I never guessed that it was at this scale.

I imagine about that it was somewhere at the periphery on some military barracks or railway network. I knew about the old National Theatre, that was hit by mistake instead of the Telephony Palace building near by but I never imagined that the University building and the University Square, Calea Victoriei and Atenee Palace was bombed so hard.
